How do I get .gov and .edu backlinks? Part 2
Okay this is a continuation of my initial blog post on how do I get .gov and .edu backlinks.
We all know that in order to generate targeted traffic to your blog or website you need to have backlinks on blogs or other websites which have a very High PR. PR means Page rank. The essence of this is the fact that the big search engines such as google view these backlinks as a vote to your site and when these votes are coming for sites which high PR it counts towards the SERP of your website.
One very useful site which I use for such backlinks activities is www.linkmarket.com.
This indeed is an excellent website and on this site you will find many websites with very high PR's looking to exchange backlinks with you.
This is good news because prior to now, you had to contact the webmasters of these sites and beg them for links on their sites. Now such sites like linkmarket do all that for you. This is great. I have been able to increase my traffic tremendously simply by building more backlinks to high PR sites.
Hope you enjoyed How do I get .gov and .edu backlinks? Part 2

Currated Content
#1 – Find blogs that do daily, weekly, or monthly “link roundups”. I’ll explain more about this in a minute.
#2 – Write a really kick-a$$ post on your own blog. Again, more in a minute.
#3 – Submit your content for the link roundups.
#4 – Profit!
That’s really it. Let me explain in a few details what you do.
“Link Roundups”
Link roundups are, basically, a blog post in which the blog owner finds unique content, videos, etc. and shares it with his audience. They list it as “links to good content” and a lot of the times they also comment on it. This is “curating” according to the definition above.
Here is how you find these blogs.
1. Go to Google.com
2. Use one of these search parameters
a. "link roundup" + (your niche)
b. “daily link roundup” + (your niche)
c. “weekly link roundup” + (your niche)
d. “monthly link roundup” + (your niche)
e. EXAMPLE: “link roundup” + marketing
f. EXAMPLE: “daily link roundup” + dog training
g. This is a starting point – there probably are other keywords you can use.
3. Once you find the blogs, look through their previous link lists. What kind of content have they accepted in the past? What content are they missing from this niche that could supplement well? Take this information and make notes of it. You are going to use it in a minute.
This will provide you with a list of blogs that accept links of useful information on a regular basis. (Key word here being “regular”)
Now, once you have your list of blogs and some basic info on the topics they have accepted as well as what is “missing” in their content, we need to write up a killer blog post or piece of content ourselves.
Killer Content
Now I could just say “write some good stuff” and leave you at that. But instead, I’m going to give you a nice bonus.
I’ll call this…
“How to Write Kick-A$$, Attention Grabbing Content!”
This is going to apply to just about any content you can give. Whether it be blog posts, articles for article sites or syndication, guest blog posting, or even info products.
When I write, I have three main rules. Well, more like “guidelines”... But anyway, I call this the “Rule of Threes”:
1. The content must be Entertaining.
2. The content must be able to be read in less than 20 minutes. (Ideally. It depends on the purpose of the content, but I’ll say most content needs to fall in this category, unless you are doing LARGE products)
3. They must feel like the content they are reading solves one problem really well. Ideally, they can see themselves doing it because it’s explained well enough and easy enough…gives them the “ah-ha” moment.
Most people who write don’t do any of these things. They kinda just “write” and are surprised when it doesn’t work out.
Now, if you want an example of what I’m talking about, look at this report.
I attempt, hopefully with some success, to fulfill all three of those things.
Now imagine if I gave this away for FREE on my website. The blog owner gets something cool to give away, and you get a POWERFUL link on a website and some traffic.
And all you did was write ONE post. No guest blogging. No writing and submitting articles. Easy backlink and easy traffic.
The final piece of this pie is getting the blog owner to post your link and comment on it.
This isn’t that difficult, however.

Using Stumble Upon as a TRaffic Source.
There are many people who don't know that you can get absolutely massive amounts of traffic using Stumble Upon or SU
And the technique goes like this...
First thing is you need to write a very good article that is unique and intriguing. Something that will share huge content that can not be found anywhere else on the internet.
Once that is done, you need to upload it to either an article directory or unto your blog site.
Then this is what you do next...
Once the article has been submitted you need to make it get massive amounts of views and I will tell you how to do this.
There is a website I use very frequently to get massive amounts of free traffic to any website or article I want and here is where this technique gets interesting.
A lot of articles in article directories that have received many views are sometimes given an adrenalin boost to get such high views of over 200k.
So now you have your article and you are ready to get massive traffic to your website. If you are able to get massive amounts of views to your articles, chances are that your article will then be featured on these article directories because of the amount of views you are getting. What happens next is that your article will then start driving targeted massive traffic from the search engines and also from these article directories to your blogs or offers.
So how do you get the massive views to your articles or even youtube videos.
Simple. I use a website called www.donkeymails.com
Donkey mails is massive and you can get cheap massive traffic from them.
I currently have traffic of over 25k per day from my campaigns to my articles and videos. What happens then is that because my articles and videos are getting so many views, they get pushed up the ranks on the search engines and in the directories thereby becoming featured articles or videos.
This then brings massive amounts of free targeted hungry buying traffic to my offers.
These are some of the techniques people are using to get massive hungry traffic to their offers. Try it out yourself and see what results you get.

Paid directories will help ensure your site is listed for the lifetime of the directory. Many have been around for several years and garner higher one-time fees, or low monthly rates for maintaining a link. On the flip side, other paid directories are new to the scene and looking for quality links but offering reasonable rates for one-time links. Depending on your goals and budget, both can pay off in the long or short run if you decide to purchase a link.
Reciprocal link directories can be an inexpensive way to build traffic to your site, without paying large submission fees at paid and premium directories. Typically, reciprocal links are often allowed to get a free link as long as they maintain a return (or reciprocal) link back to the originating directory.
Free directories are often how directory owners start out, in an effort to gain some market share, and draw attention to their directory. Although many remain free and are ad-supported, often times prices are introduced or raised to cut down on the spam, and encourage serious submissions only. Whenever new directories offer free links, is a great time to submit. The potential of getting free backlinks as the directory grows in strength can be worth the effort of submitting your sites to these brand new under valued directories.
Picking an Appropriate Category
Nothing is more frustrating than rejecting a good site because it was mis-categorized. Often times if the site is good I will move it to the appropriate category as favor to the owner. However, it requires very little time to simply reject a site, and choosing an incorrect category can often result in a permanent ban of the site and possibly an IP.
Many free directory submissions operate on the terms that you may not submit to what is considered a "Top-Level" directory. These categories are reserved for paid or featured link listings and directory owners try to keep them reserved for those clients.
An example of submitting to a "top-level category" would be submitting your "Trucking" directory to the top-most category for "Web Directories". Unless you've paid for a feature listing along with that request, chances are it will be rejected. The most appropriate category, all things considered would be "Web Directories :: Niche :: Trucking". Don't assume you belong where you want to be unless you're willing to pay for it. There is a lot of competition and those that mass-submit to top-level directories most certainly deserve to be banned from the site.
When a relevant directory isn't obvious, take a few extra seconds to start from the top and drill down into the site's categories. It may be the difference between acceptance and rejection, and is worth the extra amount of time to "hand pick" the category vs. automated category selection tools that use sub-string matching when the first choice is not found.
Writing a Winning Description
The most common reason directory owners reject links is simply because it looks like spam...you need to keep in mind the old adage: "If it looks like spam, and smells like spam..." — Trust me, as a directory owner, you are not fooling anyone.
If you spend a few minutes, and come up with a properly worded title and description, you will have a much higher success rate. Avoid looking like a spammer: always "Camel Case" your titles (aka "First Upper"), and use proper casing in your description instead of all lowercase. If every word is in UPPERCASE, it will certainly get rejected (if it doesn't then you probably shouldn't be after a link from that site anyway).
Directory owners are also tipped off to the laziness of the submitter when the submission request has only a list of comma-separated keywords in the title and/or description (I've seen both on more than a few occassions and simply hit "reject" without giving it a second thought — I also ban these IPs).
When submitting your URL to a directory, be sure to read the appropriate guidelines posted on the submission page (if there isn't any, be courteous and use common sense). In many cases, you are asking people to do you a favor by linking to your site, the less of a hassle it is for the directory owner to approve your site, the higher your chances of approval are. I typically waste little time re-categorizing or changing "UPPERCASE TITLES" to "Mixed Case Titles".
Many directory owners will not accept links from certain topics (ie - Adult, Gambling & Casino, Drug & Pharmacy, etc). If you are clearly violating the rules, or submitting to a totally un-related category, you will be wasting everybody's time (including your own).
Avoid submitting the same web site multiple times without hearing anything back. When submitting for my clients, I typically wait around 3-4 months before I re-submit a site...and always correct the problem if a reason was given and only then do I re-submit.
Avoid deep linking to the same web site over and over again. Too many links to the same place and your site looses credibility. I see this and simply reject all related submissions, banning the entire domain and IP number for recurring problematic "spammy" submitters.

I wanted to know what Pageranks mean and how to Interpret them.
Ranks and what they mean in simple terms:

1] Very poor, but hey - at least you are listed.
2] Poor, but you have potential to move up and it can be done.
3] Average. You have good information and most websites fall in this ball park.
4] Above average. You're sprinting away from the majority.
5] Good. Page Rank 5 will usually pop up on the first page of some searches.
6] Great. You've worked hard and have great information.
7] You're hot and you're one of the top sites. Your peer is Zillow.
8] You’re super hot, and your peers are CNBC, EBay, Bing, American Idol.
9] Everyone wants you, you are like: Youtube, Yahoo, Facebook, Apple, Amazon.
10] Finally, the 10s: Google, CNN, usa.gov, and social bookmarking website AddThis.

How Backlinks Affect Your Traffic Generation
When a search is typed into Google, a complicated algorithm is run to determine which pages best provide what the searcher is looking for. First of all, there are aspects of the page itself that usually have to match what is typed in. For example if somebody is searching for 'weight loss tips', then most likely the pages that appear top in the results will have that phrase in the title, and sprinkled about the page. This is an SEO topic that will be discussed in more detail in the next module but for now, appreciate that a huge number of pages could all be very carefully optimised towards that phrase. How then should Google decide which order to rank them in?
Many years ago Google created a concept known as Page Rank (PR) which is a rough indication of how popular a page is. It is still in use today though the ranking algorithm now is a lot more complicated than simply ranking things in order of PR. One of the largest factors in both Page Rank and the ranking algorithm in general is the number and quality of backlinks that point at a particular page.
Google figures that a page that has a million backlinks is probably better than a page with none, or that a page with lots of backlinks that are anchored with text that refer to weight loss are better than random backlinks about all sorts of topics that don't have any relation to weight loss. Google also figures that a backlink that comes from another high authority site is worth more than a backlink that comes from a new site with no authority of its own. As you can see, there are a lot of factors that affect the quality of a backlink and we'll discuss those in another section, but it is clear that a page that has a large number of good quality backlinks is always going to outrank a page with a low number of poor quality backlinks.
So, all things being equal on the page, it is the backlinks that make the difference in the rankings and this is why we want to build them!

Are You Looking For New Traffic Sources?
Recently I have been exploring with new traffic sources and one of the two I am using now is AdOnion.
AdOnion is very good and is based on individual campaigns based on bids. You simply join adOnion for free and then start a campaign. The only down side to this is that you have to fund your account with minimum of $20 dollars. For anyone who is just starting off, this might be a problem, so try to start making money first before your invest in your first campaign.
The second traffic source you can try is Project Wonderful. Many people still do not know about this website and it is truly amazing. You join for free and once you join you can fund your account with $5.00 and you can pay with paypal.
Okay so once you have funded your account you simply create your first campaign and it is based on your bid.
You simply bid on how much you are willing to spend to run your ad per day on particular websites in the niche market of your choice. The reason why I like this is because there are websites in certain niche markets that you can end up advertising on them for free. Just check them out. If you want my free report on how you can use this website to make money, then visit my website.

How Do I Get Traffic To My Website?
So now you have found your niche market and you have a proven product which you want to promote to this hungry market. So just how do you get traffic to this offer? Well don't be looking for just any traffic but targeted traffic?
There are many ways in which you can get traffic to your offers or websites. One such way is by using articles. Using articles to get traffic is really simple. The hardest part is to actually find the right traffic generating keywords to use as titles for your articles.
The first thing you want to do is research to find highly trafficked keywords whereby there are very few competitors. When I say competitors I mean anything between 1000 to 17,000 competing pages and you would be able to rank quite easily.
So just how do you do this? First find a suitable article directory you want to submit your articles to. The two I use very often are articlebase and articlesantch.
I use these two because they accept your articles very quickly and you get indexed in the search engines very rapidly, depending on your chose keywords. So you have your keywords and you have successfully written your article with LSI keywords inserted into it. (If you don't know what these are then visit my website at http://www.imrisinternetmarketing.com) and get your FREE report on what these are.
Submit your articles and then wait for it to be accepted into their directory. Once this happens the article will generate traffic back to your website for some time to come. Not only that, if you truly have placed some fantastic content in the article, you could have other influential webmasters paste your article on their blogs thereby giving you more traffic and readership to your blog or article.
Finally, make sure in the article resource box, you place a link back to your website. Now don't just place any link, use an anchor text which would point back to your website when visitors on your article click on them. Do this and watch the traffic come in.

Is Affiliate Marketing Really Worth All The Trouble?
I used to find myself jumping from pillar to post and on every single product launch that was available. I'm not saying it's not good to know what's happening in your market place, all I am saying is find a business model that works and work at it till you find success.
This is exactly what I did.
First thing I did once I knew exactly what to do was to get myself a domain name. Then get yourself an autoresponder either a free one such as iContact or a paid one like Aweber. If you have not heard about these or what an autoresponder is visit my site and sign up to my newsletter. I have an amazing report for you that will show and teach you all about this.
Okay so now you have your domain and autoresponder, what you need next is to either write a free report or get one online. The reason why you want this is because you want to give this report away as a free gift for people to sign up to your newsletter. Once they sign up you can start to build a relationship with them and promote other related products to them.
Hold up, we are jumping the gun a little...
Okay so you have your free gift, what you then want to do is design a squeeze page and send targeted traffic to this page. Okay so just what is a squeeze page. This is a page you will sent up on your domain such that when visitors come to it, they are attracted to your headline and story and will be compelled to sign up to your autoresponder series in order to get your free gift. Once they sign up, they are giving you permission to contact them with related offers.
If you design you page well, then you should have many people signing up to your newsletter. You can build a massive list this way and by so doing generate massive incomes for yourself online.
Article Marketing As The Alternative To Massive Traffic
If you have ever considered article marketing for traffic generation then please go ahead.
There are specific things however you need to do in order to have good results to this technique and I will discuss very briefly about it here.
The main key to success with article marketing is to make sure you target the right keywords. I often see people trying to target highly competitive keywords for traffic but this is not the way to go about it. What I do is target the less competitive keywords and you will find that you will eventually rank for higher keywords.
Make sure the keywords you decide to target are at least 4 to 7 words long. The reason being for this is that you would get highly targeted traffic and you will rank very high for those keywords in the search engines. Not only that eventually you will start ranking for the more competitive keywords in the search engine.
I was really bothered about getting traffic to my websites until I understood that it is still possible to get free traffic from the search engines if only you did things the right way.
Are you looking for more traffic?
If you are then another thing you might want to consider is how to generate massive traffic from backlinks.
Internet Marketing Simplified
The first step is to sign up for a free blog or wordpress and sent up your site. Add suifficient fresh content to your blog then apply to google for their adsense program. If you have made your blog highly targeted with fresh content and keyword optimized then you will be accepted quicker.
Once you have been successfully accepted, what you then want to do is drive highly targeted traffic to your blog. You can do this by using video marketing sites such as you tube, you may want to write articles, you can use free press release sites or write a report and give it away for free. Most importantly you want to build a list of subscribers in your chosen niche market so that you can send them similar offers for them to consider.
Keep driving traffic to your blog site and keep building your list. Soon you will start making money.
Never give up and spend an hour a day promoting your blog.
